T he Sweetwater 22 DF is a good bet for the boater who's serious about cruising and passionate about fishing. A pontoon's primary mission is to do both in comfort, and to do it in a package text doesn't break the budget. This boat hits the bullseye.

The 60-hp Mercury Bigfoot outboard gives this luxury package a respectable top-end speed of 21 mph, but more importantly, it does it without guzzling fuel like the Queen Mary.

The standard fishing package on this rig includes and holders, three swivel fishing chairs and a rod locker for a few light-actions rods. Anchor lockers for- ward keep gear safely stowed. Boarding gate on both sides, along the bow and at the rear entry make this boat easily accessible for everyone, from junior to grandma.

The adjustable helm seat is comfortable for any driver. Cooler storage below the helm is handy, and additional appointments like sport steering wheel and 12-volt power for a cellular phone are bonus features.

Hydraulic steering is an available option on the Sweetwater 22 DF, and we think the modest cost is well worth the benefit to anyone who might take the wheel - it's easy to maneuver.

Godfrey builds its seats and helm, in fact most of the furnishings on board, using a Perma- Life construction that won't rot or mildew. The pontoons are built from top-quality aluminum, as are brackets and I-beams

Sturdy construction, luxury appointments and great graphics mean boaters are assured of a good return on their recreational investment.
